Lee Anna Stirling


Lee Anna Stirling,
EdD (Teachers College, Columbia), is For Deeper Learning Founder, President/ Executive Director, and Editor, Deeper Learning Journal of Practice.

Lee Anna has has provided problem-based learning and project-based learning for liberal arts undergraduate students and graduate education students, and has served as a K-12 teacher, education grant writer, administrator, and instructional coach in Maine, South Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, the Bronx, and Colegio Panamericano in Bucaramanga, Colombia. Lee Anna Stirling’s doctoral degree concentration at Teachers College was professional development and organization development, with Ann Lieberman as her primary mentor/advisor.

For American Educational Research Association, Lee Anna Stirling  served as proposal reviewer and with Interdisciplinary Journal of Problem-Based Learning was Consulting Editor. At the New England Educational Research Organization (NEERO) Annual Conference Lee Anna Stirling presented about Educators’ Capacity-Building Peer Coaching, and about a workshop in which teacher and principal participants learned and engaged in Educators’ Capacity-Building Peer Coaching. Lee Anna Stirling’s articles have been published in Phi Delta Kappan, Journal of Maine Education, and New England Journal of Higher Education.

Educators’ Capacity-Building Peer Coaching is voluntary, reciprocal coaching, with the inviting educator and coach switching roles and together learning how to enhance or add what the inviting teacher would like. The process supports empowered lifelong learning, collaboration, and inquiry.

With high quality PBL (project-based and problem-based learning) students
gain deeper learning outcomes for constructive participation in school and in life.
