Terri I. Cooper

Terri I. Cooper, EdD serves on For Deeper Learning‘s Board of Directors. In Dr. Cooper’s work as school superintendent, teacher, principal, and employee support services director, she has worked to foster high quality, inclusive learning, where students develop into inquisitive and productive citizens.

Previously, Dr. Cooper was superintendent of RSU 21, Kennebunk, Maine area; principal of River Gate Elementary School, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Charlotte, North Carolina; and Principal of Sun Valley Elementary School, Monroe, North Carolina. Terri Cooper started her career as an elementary school teacher, serving 10 years in Richmond and Union counties in North Carolina. She was Director of Employee Support Services for Union County, overseeing the district’s mentor, beginning teacher, recruitment, substitute, Fair Labor Standard Act and unemployment programs and activities.

Dr. Cooper has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; a Master’s degree in Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte; and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Wingate University.
